Many ladies are put off shooting a shotgun by well meaning friends/husbands/fathers letting them “just have a try” with a completely unsuitable gun and cartridges.
We have a number of different guns in different calibres at the shooting school so that we can always find something to suit, we also use a high quality cartridge which recoils(kicks) much less than some cheaper brands. With the right equipment shooting should not be uncomfortable.

the weight of the gun can be an issue but there are ways to help with this. Whether to close an eye is another area of confusion where ladies often get conflicting advice. When you come to the school we can test whether you need to close an eye and give you a definitive answer.
From an instructors point of view ladies are often easier to teach because they don’t expect a natural ability the way men often do, for this reason ladies seem to listen better and progress is rapid. |
